Summary
An infant with double aortic arch is reported in whom ultrafast computed tomography
with three-dimensional volume reconstruction provided great anatomic detail of the
vascular anom aly. This technique and magnetic resonance imaging may ob viate the
need for invasive angiography.
Zusammenfassung
Bei einem 8 Monate alten Knaben wurde zunächst mit konventionellen Methoden (Thorax-Röntgen
und Ösophagogramm) die Diagnose eines doppelten Aortenbogens gestellt und danach mittels
ultraschneller Computertomographie bestätigt. Das Kind wurde dann von einer linksseitigen
Thorakotomie aus operiert, wobei sich alle im CT nachgewiesenen anatomischen Details
bestätigten. Diese Technik wie auch die Kernspinresonanztomographie machen eine invasive
angiographische Diagnostik überflüssig.
